Men's Basketball Takes on Tulane Tonight

TULSA, Okla. - Tulsa plays host to Conference USA foe Tulane at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

The Golden Hurricane has won two in a row to even its record to 9-9 overall and 2-2 C-USA play, and has also won four of its last six games. Jordan Clarkson leads the Hurricane, which scores 65.8 points per game, with 15.4 points and 2.7 assists per contest. Scottie Haralson averages 10.7 points and makes 2.9 three-pointers per game, while Steven Idlet scores 9.6 points and grabs 5.3 rebounds per game. Tim Peete also dishes 2.1 assists per outing, while Kodi Maduka leads TU with 7.2 rebounds and adds 8.6 points and 1.2 blocks.

The Golden Hurricane ranks 27th in the nation in rebounding margin, averaging 36.7 rebounds per game to its opponents' 30.3 rpg. The TU defense holds its foes to a .417 field goal percentage and 63.8 points per game, and ranks 35th in the country in blocked shots, averaging 5.0 per contest. TU shoots 44 percent from the floor.

Tulane is led by Ricky Tarrant, who scores 12.1 points and passes 2.9 assists per game, while Jordan Callahan averages 11.3 points and 2.1 assists per contest. Josh Davis adds 10.8 points and leads the Wave with 9.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per outing. The Green Wave average 66.6 points and 37.6 rebounds per game, while allowing 55.2 points and 32.5 rebounds on defense. The Wave shoots .426 from the floor, .362 from three-point range and .658 from the free throw line, and allows opponents to shoot .373 from the field and .315 from downtown.

This is the 12th meeting between Tulsa and Tulane. Tulsa leads the series, 7-4. The Golden Hurricane has won three in a row in the series, taking both games last season. Tulane won three straight from 2007-09, and the Hurricane won three in a row prior to that. Tulsa has won the last two meetings in Tulsa by an average of 10.5 points, while the schools' eight meetings since 2006 have been decided by just 4.4 points. The Hurricane is 5-1 all time against the Wave in Tulsa.
