Middlebrooks Named C-USA Hitter of the Week

TULSA, Okla. - Tulsa's Lacey Middlebrooks was named Conference USA Hitter of the Week after she hit .471 and drove in 10 runs last weekend, the league office announced Monday.
Middlebrooks, a junior pitcher/designated player from Wake Village, Texas, went 8-for-17 at the plate with a .529 slugging percentage and a .444 on-base percentage, and picked up a win in the circle, to lead Tulsa to a 4-1 record at the FAU "Strike Out Cancer" Tournament. She tallied 10 of the team's 34 RBI in the five games over the weekend.
In two games Friday, Middlebrooks went 4-for-6 at the plate, totaling five RBI, and earned a win in the circle for Tulsa. She was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI in the first game, a 9-0 win over Loyola Marymount. She then went 2-for-3 driving in three of the four TU runs, and allowed just one run and four hits with six strikeouts to earn the complete-game, 4-1, win over the Panthers.
Saturday, Middlebrooks was 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in the 11-6 extra-inning win over Florida A&M, and then drove in two runs, going 1-for-3, in the 6-5 win at FAU. She drove in two runs and was 1-for-3 at the plate Sunday against Michigan State.
This is Middlebrooks' first career C-USA Hitter of the Week award.
