ORLANDO, Fla. - The Tulsa softball team dropped game one of its Conference USA opening series at UCF, 4-0, Saturday afternoon at the UCF Softball Complex.
The Golden Hurricane fell to 14-5 overall and 0-1 in C-USA play. UCF (16-7, 1-0 C-USA) starter Mackenzie Audas (8-4) allowed just one hit - a sixth-inning single up the middle by Cierra Hughes - and struck out nine batters with a walk.
TU starter Lacey Middlebrooks (5-2) allowed four earned runs and five hits in 3.0 innings. Kalynn Schrock struck out three and allowed two hits in 3.0 innings of relief.
UCF scored all four runs in the second inning. The Knights loaded the bases with a hit-by-pitch and two walks, followed by an RBI hit-by-pitch, single, sacrifice fly and another single to drive in the four runs.
Tickets to TU home softball games are $5.00 general admission and can be purchased at the gate. Youth softball girls are admitted FREE when wearing their team jersey/uniform.
