Softball Plays at Missouri State Wednesday

TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa softball team travels to Springfield, Mo., for a midweek matchup against Missouri State at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Killian Softball Stadium.

The Golden Hurricane enters the game at 26-8 overall with a 10-2 C-USA mark, while the Bears are 17-16 overall and carry a 5-7 record in the Missouri Valley Conference. Live stats will be available at www.TulsaHurricane.com.

Tulsa is hitting .329 (313-for-951) with 193 RBI, 178 runs, 47 doubles, 10 triples and 25 home runs, and has a .478 slugging percentage and a .395 on-base percentage with 98 walks. The Hurricane has a 2.42 team ERA with 222 strikeouts, 121 walks, 192 hits, 115 runs and 79 earned runs allowed, and has a .227 opponent batting average.

The Golden Hurricane is led in hitting by junior shortstop Samantha Cobb, who is hitting .407 (48-for-118) with 40 RBI, 35 runs, nine home runs, a .729 slugging percentage and a .454 on-base percentage. Junior center fielder Caitlin Everett is hitting .400 (50-for-125) with 39 runs, 17 RBI, a .512 slugging percentage and a .444 OBP. Sophomore third baseman Jill Barrett hits .415 (49-for-118) with 32 runs, 18 RBI, and a .457 OBP. Senior infielder Skylar Swanson has 40 RBI and hits .308 with five doubles, eight homers and a .606 slugging percentage and a .390 OBP.

In the circle, junior Lacey Middlebrooks is 10-3 with a 1.96 ERA in 96.2 innings, and has allowed 77 hits, 40 runs and 27 earned runs, with 72 strikeouts and 49 walks. Sophomore Aimee Creger is 13-3 with a 2.58 ERA in 95.0 innings, and has allowed 59 hits, 42 runs and 35 earned runs, with 125 strikeouts and 53 walks. Sophomore Kalynn Schrock is 3-2 with a 3.25 ERA and has allowed 56 hits, 33 runs and 17 earned runs, with 25 strikeouts and 19 walks in 36.2 innings.

Missouri State hits .235 (196-for-934) with 88 RBI, 102 runs, 35 doubles, one triple and seven home runs, and has a .305 slugging percentage and a .320 on-base percentage with 90 walks. The Bears have a 2.78 team ERA with 162 strikeouts, 43 walks, 234 hits, 109 runs, and 87 earned runs allowed and a .273 opponent batting average.

Tulsa and Missouri State have played 42 times. MSU leads the series, 24-18. The Golden Hurricane has won the last seven meetings, including all three last season. TU defeated the Bears, 4-0, in the regular season before winning, 9-7 and 11-0, in the NCAA Regional in Norman, Okla. MSU last won in the series in 2006 in Springfield. The teams last played in Springfield in 2010 when Tulsa took a 4-3 win. TU is 7-2 vs. Missouri State since 2006, including 3-2 in Springfield during that time.
