TULSA, Okla. - Cedrick McAfee, who enrolled in classes at The University of Tulsa last week, has decided to leave the Golden Hurricane basketball program, announced TU Head Basketball Coach Danny Manning.

After further thought, McAfee desired to play basketball this season instead of sitting out the mandatory one-year transfer rule. Therefore, McAfee has elected to play at a junior college this season.

"Cedrick had a growing desire to play basketball immediately and not have to miss one full season before getting back to playing competitively," said Manning. "We're extremely disappointed that he has decided to leave TU. After conversations with Cedrick and his mother, they felt it was in his best interest to be on the court this season and not have to sit out another year."

A native of Memphis, Tenn., McAfee saw a limited amount of playing time last year as a true freshman at Auburn University.
