TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa men's basketball team plays its 2014-15 home opener Monday night when it welcomes Louisiana-Lafayette to the Donald W. Reynolds Center for an 8:30 p.m. tipoff.
The Golden Hurricane and Ragin' Cajuns contest is part of a TU Basketball doubleheader, and will begin following the TU women's basketball team's 6 p.m. game against Lamar.

The Series
This will be the fourth meeting between Tulsa and Louisiana-Lafayette. Tulsa leads the series, 2-1. This will be the first contest between the teams since 1978. ULL won that meeting, 94-84 on Dec. 5, 1978 in Lafayette. The Golden Hurricane won the first two meetings between the schools, 93-69 on Dec. 2, 1963, and 81-71 on Feb. 8, 1978. Both of those were played in Tulsa. TU is 2-0 against ULL in Tulsa.

• Tulsa has a quick turnaround as it looks to rebound from its 77-68 season opening loss at Oral Roberts Saturday. D'Andre Wright led the Golden Hurricane with 17 points, while James Woodard scored 16 points, Rashad Smith scored 13 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, and Marquel Curtis added 12 points.
• This is the second of a stretch of three games in five days for the Hurricane to open the season. TU also plays host to Abilene Christian on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
• With 16 points in the opener, Woodard has now scored 927 points in his career, and needs just 73 points to become Tulsa's 36th 1,000-point scorer.
• Woodard has scored in double figures in 28 consecutive games, dating back to Dec. 4, 2013 when he scored 25 points against Texas Southern. It is tied for the ninth-longest such streak in school history.
• The Tulsa defense held Oral Roberts to a .396 field goal percentage, and has held 33 of its last 35 opponents under 50 percent from the field, dating to the start of the 2013-14 season. That includes 31 straight opponents shooting less than 50 percent from the field.
