Head Coach John Bargfeldt
On tonight's game
"There are certain days where your pitching carries you, but today our hitters had to carry us. They did a great job of doing that. When you score a run in every inning it just keeps the pressure on, and every time they inched closer to us we put up another one."
On everyone batting well
"The top of the lineup really came through tonight. There have been a couple of games here this weekend where I felt like the middle or the bottom was getting more of the hits. Looking at one through five, they really got some hits tonight."
On what Tulsa needs to do in order to win tomorrow
"Baylor is obviously a very good team. We have to go out and play the same type of game that we did this morning against them. Like I said, there were some situations where hits dropped for them and there were balls that we hit well that went straight to people. We're going to take the same approach that we always have and get after them tomorrow. We will try to play as good of a game against them as we did the first time. Anytime you are given the chance to win as a coach you are pleased, and that is what we want to do."
Erica Sampson, Junior C
On tonight's win
"Playing Houston yesterday and not being able to turn our bats on until the seventh inning really fired us up going into this game. We needed to pick up exactly where we left off yesterday, and we did that. Scoring every inning was huge. All I was thinking with the hitters behind me was to get a line drive and get on base. Almost everybody got a hit that game. This is exactly where we need to be going into the game against Baylor tomorrow."
On tomorrow's matchup with Baylor
"We need to come out as a collective whole. We don't need to panic because we have seen (Whitney) Canion before. Today we went in raw without a game plan for her. Tomorrow it is going to be really crucial to be settled and make her throw a lot of pitches."
Shelby Blanton, Senior 2B
On tonight's high scoring victory
"Both pitchers kept us in the game and did a really good job pitching. Offensively everyone strung together hits. We did a really good job of putting hits together and scoring runs in that game."
On what Tulsa needs to do tomorrow in order to win
"Well, we have already seen their left-handed pitcher, so we have a lot of confidence seeing her again. We have to come out and make the adjustments that we didn't make in the first game."
