TU Basketball to Play Inaugural MGM Grand Main Event

TULSA, Okla. - The University of Tulsa Basketball team will play in the first MGM Grand Main Event, a new tournament featuring eight teams, Nov. 24-26 at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas.
The Golden Hurricane, led by first-year head coach Frank Haith, is part of the Heavyweight bracket along with Auburn, Oklahoma State and Oregon State. The Middleweight bracket incudes Louisiana-Lafayette, Milwaukee, Oral Roberts and a final team to be announced.
Each team will play two games in Las Vegas on Monday and Wednesday of Thanksgiving week. An additional eight games will be played at home sites preceding the games in Las Vegas. The Heavyweight bracket will play the evening session with tipoff times at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. CT. The bracket pairings will be announced on ESPN.com Tuesday, Aug. 5.
