Tulsa's Edwards and Thun Receive American Athletic Conference Accolades

Providence, R.I. - Tulsa junior Roman Edwards and freshman Rachel Thun received American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week accolades, respectively, as announced today by the league office.
Edwards helped TU post a 3-2 comeback win over Missouri State and a 2-0 shutout against UMKC. She played the complete 180:38 at defender in the two matches and even had a shot attempt, which was on goal.
Thun tallied two goals and three assists on the weekend. After being down 2-1 against Missouri State, Thun scored her second goal of the season to tie the game. She also assisted on the overtime game-winner, as well as TU's first goal against the Bears. Thun assisted on the first goal against UMKC and punched in a penalty kick for the final score.
Tulsa will return to action against Central Arkansas on Friday, September 5th. Game time is set for 1:00 pm at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
