TULSA POSTGAME NOTES AT FLORIDA ATLANTIC

• Tulsa team captains were senior offensive linemen Garrett Stafford and Davis Walton, senior linebacker Jake Sizelove, and junior defensive end Derrick Alexander.
• Senior defensive back DeMarco Nelson made his 42nd start in 43 career games played.
• Redshirt freshman placekicker Redford Jones, true freshman cornerback Jordan Mitchell and redshirt freshman Zac Uhles saw their first collegiate action in the game.
• Tulsa was held scoreless in the first quarter for the third time this season. TU also did not score in the first quarter of each of its first two games against Tulane and Oklahoma.
• Sophomore quarterback Dane Evans and junior receiver Conner Floyd connected for a nine-yard touchdown at the 10:35 mark of the second quarter. It was the sixth touchdown pass of the season for Evans and second touchdown reception for Floyd.
• Tulsa was charged with a safety at the 5:37 mark of the second quarter. It was the first safety in a Tulsa football game since Nov. 19, 2011 when UTEP blocked a punt for a safety.
• Junior Mandel Dixon Jr. scored his first career touchdown with a 3-yard run at the 8:01 mark of the third quarter. It was also his first career rush.
• Junior running back Zack Langer scored a touchdown on a three-yard run at the 6:52 mark of the fourth quarter. It was his first touchdown of the season and his third career touchdown.
