• Tulsa's game against Oklahoma marked the first time that the Hurricane has opened the season with back-to-back home games since 2001.

• Tulsa's team captains were senior defensive back DeMarco Nelson, senior defensive back Austin McDaniel, junior defensive end Derrick Alexander, and junior offensive tackle Garrett Stafford.

• DeMarco Nelson made his 41st start in 42 career games played.

• Junior wide receiver Connor Floyd made his first career start.

• True freshman receiver Nigel Carter, redshirt freshman defensive back Kerwin Thomas and redshirt freshman offensive guard Rob Boyd played in their first collegiate game.

• At the 3:25 of the second quarter, junior defensive tackle Derrick Luetjen recorded his first sack of the season for an 11-yard loss. It was Luetjen's fifth career sack.

• At the 11:42 mark of the third quarter, sophomore quarterback Dane Evans completed a four-yard touchdown pass to sophomore receiver Keevan Lucas. It was Evans' fifth touchdown pass of the season and Lucas' fourth touchdown reception of the season.

• At the 9:25 mark of the third quarter, junior h-back Mandel Dixon Jr. recorded his first career reception on a nine-yard pass from Evans.

• At the 9:55 mark of the fourth quarter, true freshman receiver Bishop Louie recorded his first career reception on a 10-yard pass from Evans. Louie finished the game with a career-best four receptions for 34 yards.

• At the 1:00 mark of the fourth quarter, freshman receiver Nigel Carter recorded his first career reception on a six-yard pass from junior quarterback Joe Calcagni.

• Sophomore running back James Flanders finished the game with a career-best 54 yards on 13 carries.

• Keevan Lucas finished the game with 10 receptions for 84 yards and one touchdown. After two games, Lucas now has 23 receptions for 317 yards and four touchdowns.

• Sophomore punter Dalton Parks punted the ball eight times for a career-best average of 46.4 yards. His previous best was a 45.4 average against UTSA (11/2/13).
