Tulsa scored three runs in the top of the first inning of Game 1. Junior catcher Catherine Horner hit a two-out single, before three straight walks drove in the first run. Withee then drove a two-run single into left field. The Hurricane extended its lead to 7-1 in the top of the sixth with an RBI double to left center by Horner and Kernen's three-run home run to left center, her 10th of the season.
USF made the score 3-1 in the fifth on an RBI single by D'Anna Devine. The Bulls began the seventh inning with four straight singles, cutting the lead to 7-2. A sacrifice fly made it 7-3, before a walk loaded the bases, and a grand slam by designated player Karla Claudio tied the game, 7-7. USF won the game on Devine's RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning.
In Game 2, USF took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Claudio. The Hurricane immediately answered with two runs in the top of the second inning, and extended its lead to 6-1 with four runs in the third.
Sophomore designated player Brittany Walker led off the second with a walk, and junior left fielder Jodi Edmiston reached on a runners-safe fielder's choice. After a sacrifice bunt, Allen's sac fly scored Walker, and Edmiston crossed the plate on a passed ball to make the score, 2-1.
Sophomore third baseman Maggie Withee led off the third inning with a single to short, and scored on Senior right fielder Erica Sampson's triple to right center. Sampson scored when Horner reached on a fielder's choice, and with two out, Maddie Withee and Allen hit back-to-back RBI singles, making the score 6-1.
USF cut the lead to 6-5 with four runs in the fifth inning on an RBI single by designated player Le Ann Spivey and a three-run home run by Claudio. Claudio hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh gave the Bulls the win.
