Softball Plays Host to Arkansas Tuesday

TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa softball team plays host to Arkansas at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Collins Family Softball Complex. The game will be televised by Cox Sports Television, Ch. 335/1335 HD in Oklahoma.
The Golden Hurricane (21-12, 4-2 American) has won five of its last seven games, and defeated the Razorbacks, 5-4, in Fayetteville on March 10. Arkansas enters the game with a 14-20 record, including an 0-9 mark in SEC play.
Tulsa is led by senior Julie Kernen, who hits .384 with 48 RBI, 10 home runs, 11 doubles and 26 runs scored. Senior Erica Sampson hits .361 with 42 runs, 24 RBI and 14 extra base hits. Sophomore Brittany Walker is hitting .377 with 24 RBI, 16 runs, a .721 slugging percentage and 10 extra base hits. Sophomore Maggie Withee hits .321 and has scored 31 runs, and junior Kaitlin Allen hits .321 with nine RBI and nine runs.
In the circle, freshman Emily Watson leads the Hurricane with a 2.66 ERA. She is 5-2 with three shutouts, 51 strikeouts to 20 walks, and has allowed 50 hits and 20 earned runs in 52.2 innings. Junior Caitlin Sill is 6-7 with a 3.25 ERA, and has thrown 71.0 innings in 18 appearances with 11 starts. She has allowed 37 runs, 33 earned runs on 71 hits, with 53 strikeouts and 30 walks. Senior Bailey Erwin is 10-3 with a 3.31 ERA in 17 appearances and 13 starts. She has 73 strikeouts to 21 walks, and has allowed 94 hits and 40 earned runs in 84.2 innings.
This will be the 27th meeting between Tulsa and Arkansas. Tulsa leads the series, 14-12. The Golden Hurricane has won six of the last seven meetings, including a 5-4 win in Fayetteville on March 10. The last Razorbacks win came in 2013. TU is 5-3 at home vs. Arkansas.
