Five Softball Players Earn NFCA Scholar-Athlete Honors

TULSA, Okla. – Five University of Tulsa softball players were honored as Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes for the 2015-16 academic year by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, the organization announced. In addition, Tulsa was recognized as a 2015-16 Easton/NFCA Division I All-Academic Team with a 3.215 cumulative GPA for the 2015-16 academic year.
Current TU sophomores Rylie Spell and Ashley Kiser, and 2016 seniors Kaitlin Allen, Catherine Horner and Jocelyn Sheffield all received Scholar-Athlete honors from the NFCA. The award is given to softball student-athletes with a 3.5 grade-point average or higher. The NFCA honored 1,240 Division I athletes that completed the 2015-16 academic year with a minimum 3.5 GPA
Earlier this year, 13 TU softball student-athletes were selected to the 2014-15 American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team.
