TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa head men's basketball coach Frank Haith announced on Wednesday that 6-foot-6 wing Reggie Jones (Marion, Ind./Marion HS/Western Michigan) has signed a Financial Aid Agreement to join the program on the first day of the spring signing period.

After playing his first two seasons at Western Michigan, Jones will sit out the upcoming 2018-19 season in accordance with NCAA transfer rules and then have two years of eligibility remaining.

Jones joins Chris Barnes, Peter Hewitt and Zeke Moore, who each previously signed with the Golden Hurricane in November, as part of the 2018 signing class.

"Reggie is a long, versatile athlete who has the ability to play all over the court," Haith said. "He is a talented player that doesn't need to be identified by a position. He is a very good shooter and made more than 40-percent of his 3-point attempts as a freshman, but his size and length at 6-foot-6, 215-pounds with a 7-foot wingspan lets me know he will become a very good rebounder, defender and shot-blocker as he gains strength. This redshirt season (2018-19) is going to be very impactful for Reggie and we are very excited to welcome this great young man into the Tulsa Basketball family."

In his two seasons with the Broncos, Jones totaled 613 points (9.6 ppg), 235 rebounds (3.7 rpg) and 140 assists (2.2 apg) in 64 games. Last season, he was the team's third-leading scorer at 10.1 ppg to go along with 3.9 rpg and he was one of five players to play in all 32 contests. In addition, he ranked second on the team in assists with 67 and his 30 steals ranked third.

Jones registered a career-high 27 points on 7-of-14 shooting against Cleveland State and added another 20 points with eight rebounds and five assists against Miami (Ohio). In all, Jones led the team in scoring three times and rebounding five times.

As a freshman, he appeared in all 32 games with 14 starts and averaged 9.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game to earn a spot on the Mid-American Conference All-Freshman Team. Jones, who scored in double-figures 13 times, ranked third on the team in scoring and assists and he was second on the squad in steals and 3-point field goal percentage (40.4-percent).

Jones was at his best during MAC play as he averaged 10.6 points and 3.2 boards per outing and earned the league's Player of the Week honor after he averaged 19.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg and 2.5 spg in wins over Miami (Ohio) and Northern Illinois.

Jones was a standout at Marion (Ind.) High School and he was rated a three-star recruit and the No. 10 player in Indiana by ESPN. He averaged 16.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.1 steals per game and helped lead the Giants to the Class 3A title. In the championship game, Jones scored 19 of his 25 points in the second half to go along with eight rebounds and four assists.

He averaged 18.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.4 steals per game in the state tournament. Following the season, Jones was an IBCA/Subway Senior Large School All-State Team selection, was named the Chronicle-Tribune's Boys Basketball Player of the Year, as well as one of the Top 60 senior boys' basketball players by Hoosier Basketball Magazine.
