Tulsa's women's golf team was a force in collegiate golf in the 1970s since the program's inception going into the new century. In 1988, the Golden Hurricane women won their fourth national championship, but this is one that legendary head coach Dale McNamara may have cherished the most –– for two reasons. One, the Golden Hurricane missed qualifying for the NCAA National Championship a year earlier, but more importantly, was that daughter Melissa captured individual medalist honors.
