The Tulsa women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision at ECU on Thursday night at Johnson Stadium in Greenville, N.C.  The Golden Hurricane fell to 8-7 on the season and 2-3 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Pirates moved to 5-6-1 overall and 2-1 in the league.

"I felt like there were times we kept good possession, but we weren't finishing and getting shots off," Head Coach Kyle Cussen said.  "I was happy we got into halftime 0-0 and we made some adjustments, but we gave up the early second half goal."

"After their first goal we held possession for the next 15 minutes and I thought it was just a matter of time until we tied it up, but then we went to clear the ball and had an own goal.  Then their third goal was scored on a counter as we were pushing forward.  This game is a tough one to drop and it has a lot of playoff implications for sure.  We will have to really battle on Sunday because Cincinnati Is a tough team, especially at home."

The first half ticked off the clock scoreless, but only 86-seconds into the second frame Tori Riggs gave ECU a 1-0 lead off a combination from Jenna Dages and Daria Draovitch.  The Pirates went up 2-0 on an own goal in the 69th minute and Grace Doran flicked the ball into the net off a cross from Cashlin Copley in the 72nd minute for the final score.

ECU had a 19-10 lead in shots, including an 11-4 advantage in shots on goal, and a 6-2 lead in corner kicks.

Ashlan Hustava and Reagan Whitlow each had a team-best two shots in the contest, while six others had one attempt for the Golden Hurricane.  Mica MacKay logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up nine saves.

Tulsa will return to action on Sunday, October 13 against Cincinnati beginning at 12:00 pm Central in Cincinnati, Ohio.
