Tulsa Women Place 5th at the Chile Pepper Cross-Country Festival

Fayetteville, Ark. –– The Tulsa women finished in 5^th place at the 31^st Annual Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival on Saturday morning at Agri Park. The nation's 2^nd-ranked Arkansas Lady Razorbacks claimed the team title with 24 points, followed by Texas (90), West Virginia (100), Oklahoma State (129) and Tulsa (143) to round out the top-5 teams in the 27-team field.

Junior Caitlin Klopfer led the Hurricane with a 9^th place time of 16:57.2 in the 5K race, while sophomore Caroline Miller turned in a time of 17:15.8 for 18^th place. The remaining five Hurricane runners placed between 37^th and 53^rd in the field of 270 runners.

Senior Ashley Barnes placed 37^th in a time of 17:36.4, narrowly finishing ahead of fellow senior teammate Adrena Mazzei's time of 17:37.3 for 39^th place, while junior Jenny O'Bryan finished with a 17:39 time for 40^th place. Junior Reagan Hausmann's 17:47.2 was good for 47^th place, while red-shirt freshman Katharina Pesendorfer finished in 53^rd place with a time of 17:56.1

The Tulsa women and men will be in action next at the Nuttycombe Invitational, Friday, October 18, in Madison, Wisconsin.
