Hollingsworth Sets Career Triples Mark as Tulsa Win Streak Hits Six Games

MOBILE, Ala. — Julia Hollingsworth hit two triples to set the program's career record as Tulsa extended its winning streak to six games with wins over Lipscomb and South Alabama on the second day of the Jaguar Challenge.
Hollingsworth's triples came in the 8-3 win over South Alabama to give her 13 three-baggers in her career, surpassing Caitlin Everett (2010-13) for the top spot on the school's all-time charts. Morgan Neal also went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs in the win over the host Jaguars.
The Golden Hurricane (6-3), who defeated Lipscomb 4-3 earlier in the day, stayed hot in the circle with solid outings from Kassidy Scott, Chenise Delce and Samantha Pochop. Scott earned the win and Pochop a save against Lipscomb, while Delce improved to 3-1 with a victory against South Alabama.
Tulsa will close out the Jaguar Classic against North Dakota at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17.
Game One
Tori Stafford went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI as Tulsa jumped ahead early and held off a late charge to defeat Lipscomb, 4-3, in the first game of the day.
Haley Meinen also doubled and drove in a run for TU, while Sarah Briers added an RBI triple. The offense backed Kassidy Scott, who picked up her first win for the Hurricane after she allowed three runs with five strikeouts in five innings. Samantha Pochop yielded just one hit in two scoreless innings for the save.
The Golden Hurricane jumped ahead of the Bisons (4-4) with all four of its runs over the first three innings.
Meinen doubled in a two-out run in the first before Briers' triple scored Stafford an inning later. Hollingsworth brought Briers home with a single to make it 3-0 and Stafford doubled home another run in the bottom of the third.
Lipscomb crept back into the game with single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth. Tulsa went to the bullpen with the Bisons threatening in the sixth and Pochop limited the damage to keep TU ahead, 4-3.
Pochop then nailed down the save in the seventh with a perfect inning that included a pair of strikeouts.
Game Two
Tulsa had five extra-base hits, including two triples from Julia Hollingsworth, to defeat host South Alabama, 8-3, for its sixth straight win.
Hollingsworth went 3-for-5 and scored two runs, while Morgan Neal was a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs. In addition, Josie Muffley had the first multi-hit and multi RBI game of her career (2-for-3, 2 RBIs) as the top third of the Golden Hurricane lineup combined to go 8-for-11 with five RBIs and six runs scored.
The offense backed another strong performance from freshman Chenise Delce, who allowed three runs over six innings to improve to 3-1.
