The Tulsa offense broke through first with two runs in the bottom of the fourth. After an out to start the frame, TU got three straight hits from Muffley, Haley Meinen and Neal for the 2-0 advantage.
However, Drake got those runs back with the help of a TU error in the top of the fifth and the score remained at 2-2 heading to the bottom of the seventh.
Chenise Delce started the inning with a fly ball to right field that was dropped for an error. Pinch-runner Jesse Smith came in and moved to second when Alexis Perry coaxed a walk. Newman nearly got out of the jam as she was able to get a lineout and groundout.
But Hollingsworth delivered the winning hit through the left side that scored Smith and set off a celebration on the field.
Tulsa will be back in action at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13 when it will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., for a matchup with Arkansas.
