PROVIDENCE, R.I. — After leading Tulsa to a 5-0 week that included a win over No. 14 Arkansas, Morgan Neal and Samantha Pochop were named American Athletic Conference Player & Pitcher of the Week, respectively, the league office announced on Monday.

All five victories during the week came against Power 6 programs as the Golden Hurricane (18-8), who have won seven of its last eight overall, topped Arkansas, Kansas and Nebraska.

Neal helped lead the Tulsa offense by hitting .389 with four runs scored, three doubles and five RBIs. The senior had at least one hit in four of the five games and drove in a run in three contests.

Neal tied a season-high with three hits in Tulsa's first win over Kansas. She also doubled, scored two runs and drove in a pair in that matchup against the Jayhawks. The Springdale, Ark., native followed that up with another two hits, double and two RBIs to help the Hurricane outlast Nebraska in eight innings.

Meanwhile, Pochop went 2-0 in the circle with a 0.60 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 11.2 innings last week. Her weekend was punctuated on Sunday, when she recorded the 22nd no-hitter in TU history. The Henderson, Nev., native struck out seven and picked up the program's first seven-inning no-no since 2014.

Pochop also got the win in her other start, in which she struck out five in 4.2 innings and allowed just one run in Tulsa's Friday night victory against Kansas.

Neal, Pochop and the Hurricane will be back in action at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20 when the squad will host No. 14 Oklahoma State at Collins Family Softball Complex.
