Austin Richie named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll

TULSA, Okla. – Junior Austin Richie named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll after leading the Hurricane to consecutive wins against the Memphis Tigers and the Southwestern Christian Eagles.
Richie averaged 11.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in the two matchups. He shot 7-16 (43.8%) from the field, 6-13 (46.2%) from three and 2-2 (100%) at the free throw line.
Against Memphis, the forward led the team in points (14) and added 4 rebounds. He scored 11 of his 14 points in the second half to lead the Hurricane on an 18-5 run to defeat Memphis 56-49.
In the 102-45 victory over Southwestern Christian, Richie scored 9 points on 3-8 (38%) shooting from the field and 2-6 (33%) from behind the arc. He added a season-high 5 rebounds, two steals and an assist for the Hurricane.
Tulsa will be back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 29 in the home conference contest at the Reynolds Center against No. 6 Houston Cougars.
