Korita Named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa senior guard Lawson Korita became the fifth Golden Hurricane basketball student-athlete to earn an American Athletic Conference weekly award this season being named to the weekly honor roll, the league announced today.
In a mid-week win against Tulane, 62-57, Korita scored 12 points on 4-of-6 (67%) shooting from the field and tying his career-high making 4-6 (67%%) from three. He added 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 35 minutes of action.
On the senior night the Little Rock, Ark. native, scored a career-high 20 points to lead Tulsa to a 65-54 victory over the UCF Knights. Korita went 7-9 from the field, 3-4 from three and 3-4 from the free throw line. He added 3 steals, 2 rebounds and an assist in 33 minutes for the Hurricane.
This marked the ninth time this season that a Hurricane player has been named to an AAC weekly honor. Brandon Rachal received the AAC Player of the Week twice (Nov. 18 and Jan. 20), Martins Igbanu once (Jan. 27) and Elijah Joiner once (Feb. 3). Brandon Rachal (Dec. 2), Martins Igbanu twice (Feb. 10 and Feb. 17) and Jeriah Horne twice (Dec. 23 and Jan. 6) have been named to the weekly honor roll.
The Hurricane returns to action this Wednesday, March 4, as they travel to Temple to face-off against the Owls at 6:00 p.m. (CT).
