A Message from Rick Dickson

Dear TU Community:

In the words of Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, "there's no place like home."

My wife, Brenda, and I are excited to embark on this new adventure – one that brings us full circle, back to our hometown and our university. We look forward to re-engaging with the TU family, both near and far.

It is my hope that I can lend a hand to our coaches, student-athletes and staff, while continuing to uphold an environment of student-athlete success in the classroom and in the arena of competition. I also look forward to reconnecting with alumni, fans, and supporters who are so vital to our university, athletic programs, and community.

As a native Tulsan, TU graduate and letterwinner, the Tulsa community and university have always been close to my heart. It was (just a short) 49 years ago that I stepped foot on campus as a student-athlete, and 33 years this past August that I was provided the opportunity to serve my alma mater in an athletic administrative capacity. It is not an understatement to say that both opportunities truly changed the trajectory of my life and professional career.

Please know that I am looking forward to this journey, yet I am not going on this venture alone. It will take all of us working together towards a shared vision.
