The Tulsa women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Houston on Thursday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.  The Golden Hurricane concluded their season with a 6-9-2 overall record and a 1-6-1 mark in American Athletic Conference play, while the Cougars moved to 13-4-2 overall and 5-2-1 in the league.

"Part of the process is learning to win," Head Coach Jim Rhein said.  "Sometimes soccer isn't a fair sport.  We created a ton of chances in the first half and we should have had at least a goal in the first half, but when you don't score your chances you don't win games."

The two teams battled for 57 minutes before Samantha Wiehe put Houston on the board as she drilled in a free kick from 25 yards out into the lower right corner.  Mia Brascia added a score for the Cougars in the 80th minute as she scored on a corner kick.

Houston had a 19-9 lead in shots, including a 7-4 advantage in shot on goal, and an 8-2 lead in corner kick.

Kayla Fernandez and Mia Darden each had a team-best two shots each, while five others had one attempt.  Emma Malsy logged 69:22 in goal and picked up four saves, while Raegan Beeding concluded the contest between the posts.

After the contest, TU honored seniors Mia Darden, Addyson Guthrie, Emma Malsy and Georgia Vernardakis.
