Tulsa Softball Announces 2021 Schedule

The University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane softball team will play a 39-game schedule, including 24 American Athletic Conference games, it was announced by head coach Crissy Strimple today.
The Golden Hurricane will begin the season against the Texas A&M Aggies in a weekend series Feb. 26-28. Tulsa then co-hosts the OSU/TU Tournament from March 5-7; the tournament consists of two double-headers with New Mexico on Friday and Omaha on Saturday, before Tulsa travels to Stillwater, Okla. to take on Oklahoma State.
TU then travels to Lawrence, Kan. to compete in the Rock Chalk Challenge, with opponents and times to be announced at a later date. The Hurricane will end non-conference play with a weekend series against Louisiana Tech March 27 and 28.
Tulsa will host three AAC series, welcoming UCF (Apr. 1-3), Memphis (Apr. 16-18) and Wichita State (Apr. 30-May 2) for the four-game conference weekends.
The Hurricane will face USF (Apr. 9-11), ECU (Apr. 23-25) and Houston (May 7-9) to round out conference play. Tulsa will host the American Athletic Conference Tournament May 13-15 in the Collins Family Sports Complex.
TU returns 15 letterwinners from last season, including 8-of-9 starters, and welcomes 4 newcomers to the roster.
Tulsa is led by four seniors, Kassidy Scott, Alexis Perry, Kyndal Pirtle and Sarah Briers. Scott is 3rd all-time in school history in saves with 7, Pirtle led TU in steals last season with 5 and Perry led the team in batting average and RBIs before the season ended in 2020.
Head Coach Crissy Strimple, who is in her 2nd season at the helm with a 13-11 career-record. She led the Hurricane to the second-best start in TU history, as TU jumped out to a 7-0 start last season.
Due to continuing challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, The University of Tulsa athletics department has determined that game tickets will not be sold for the sports of men's and women's soccer, volleyball and softball.
The majority of Tulsa's men's soccer, women's soccer, volleyball and softball games, home and away, will be carried live on ESPN+.
