Rachal Named to NABC District 24 Second Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Brandon Rachal was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) District 24 second team, adding to his post season accolades, it was announced today.
 
The Natchitoches, La. Native averaged 14.7 points and 6.9 rebounds a game for the Hurricane in 23 games this season. 
 
The senior guard led the team in points, rebounds, steals and blocks, dominating both ends of the floor for TU. Rachal led the team in games with double-figures, recording double-figures in 19 of 23 contests.
 
The 6'6" guard, recorded 7 double-double on the year, with the last coming during the first round of the AAC Championship, putting in 21 points and 14 rebounds against Tulane.
 
Rachal was named to the American Athletic Conference second team earlier this post season, making it the second time in consecutive seasons that he had been selected to an all-conference team.
 
The guard was named the Naismith Trophy Player of the Week and American Athletic Conference Player of the week after averaging 23.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in wins against then No. 5 Houston Cougars and on the road at Cincinnati.
