Tulsa's Pochop Receives AAC Recognition

TULSA, Okla. – For the fourth consecutive week, a Tulsa Hurricane player was recognized by the American Athletic Conference as Samantha Pochop was named to the Weekly Honor Roll  after picking up her 6th win of the season, leading TU to a 7-2 victory against USF, it was announced today.
 
Earlier this season, the Hurricane pitcher was named The American Pitcher of the Week on March 22.
 
Pochop drew the start for the second game of the series against the Bulls. She went 6 innings, allowing just 2 runs on 6 hits moving her record to 6-1 on the season. Throughout her start she struck out 7 batters, recording just two walks.
 
The Hurricane used a 5-run 6th inning to take a 7-2 lead in the game, capturing the victory to tied the series at the time 1-1.
 
The Henderson, Nev. native received the 7th American Athletic Conference weekly honor for the Hurricane, joining Chenise Delce (March 8 and April 5), Kylie Norwood (Apr. 5) and Alexis Perry (March 29) as Hurricane players named to the Honor Roll.

Haley Morgan (March 8) was named Player of the Week after her performance during the OSU/TU Tournament. Morgan and Pochop are the only Hurricane to be selected for Player of the Week awards this season.
 
The Hurricane continues conference play this weekend, as it welcomes the Memphis Tigers to the Collins Family Softball Complex April 16-18.
