Tulsa Unveils Game Day Enhancements for 2022 Football Season

TULSA, Okla. –– Fans attending Tulsa football games in 2022 will see noticeable changes with regards to pregame festivities, parking, tailgating, stadium renovations and the overall in-game experiences.

The Golden Hurricane opens the home season on Saturday, Sept. 10 against Northern Illinois. Game time is set for 6 p.m. at H.A. Chapman Stadium. The Huskies come into the 2022 campaign after posting a 9-5 record and finishing in first place in the Mid-American Conference a year ago.

FREE parking for season and single-game ticket holders north of campus off East Fourth Place and will be available this year by showing a game ticket.

There will be a FREE tailgating option for all fans available on Chapman Commons, which features the Chapman Commons Concert Series prior to each game. Fans can un-load their tailgate supplies on the south end of Chapman Commons, go to park, and come set up their ideal tailgate party!

Pre-game tailgating at Chapman Commons for the NIU home opener begins at 1 p.m. and entertainment starts at 2 p.m. with the Brad Duvall Band. Country Music Star David Nail will take the performance stage at 3:30 p.m. The Grammy-nominated singer has two No. 1 singles, eight top 40 singles and three top 10 albums.

A 64-team Cornhole Tournament will take place for the first game. The top three teams will win prizes in the double-elimination tournament.

Moving inside the stadium gates for the home opener, the first 5,000 fans through the gates will receive a FREE T-shirt, while there will be $1 hot dogs, popcorn and sodas during the game. There will also be post-game fireworks.

Thomas Plaza on the west side of the stadium (behind Section 114) features a new quarter-size replica football field for kids, in addition to a band, bounce houses and cool zone that will create a fun atmosphere for families.

There will be two great locations to purchase TU apparel inside Chapman Stadium, including one on the northwest side near Gate 2 and another merchandise stand on the east side of the stadium behind Section 104.
