Tulsa-Rice game kicks off at 6 p.m.
TULSA, Okla. –– As the Tulsa Golden Hurricane plays host to the Rice Owls in an American Athletic Conference matchup on Thursday night, Tulsans can also be a part of history with a chance to break the Guinness World Record for the World's Largest Beer Tasting Event prior to the game.
It's the second attempt at a Guinness World Record attempt that TU has hosted in the last year. In January, Tulsa set the Guinness World Record for the Largest Pizza Party prior to a men's basketball game with 3,357 participants.
The beer tasting world record attempt will take place on Chapman Commons during pregame tailgating festivities. Each participant will be required to taste 3 beers as they are guided by a certified cicerone. Each participant must taste each selection and beer is provided for the attempt. Non-alcoholic beer options are also available.
The current Guinness Bowl World Record of 1,243 people was established in Barcelona, Spain in July of 2022.
Fans are encouraged to be at Chapman Commons on the TU campus at 2:30 p.m. to begin the lineup, while the world record attempt will take place at 4 p.m. Following the attempt, the Eli Young Band will take the stage as pregame festivities Chapman Commons leading up to kick-off on will continue.
