HOW IT HAPPENED

It didn't take long for the Hurricane to respond. Skaggs led off the second inning with a single to left. A wild pitch moved her to second. With two outs, it looked as if she'd get stranded at second. However, Vickrey drove a single up the middle, bringing her in. Vickrey advanced to second on an error by the center fielder on the play but was left there.
The Cowgirls put two runners in scoring position in the bottom of the frame, but Moore got a pop out to end the threat. Tulsa looked dangerous in the top of the third with back-to-back singles after the initial out. But a sharply hit ground ball was fielded expertly by the third baseman, who stepped on third and fired over to first to complete the 5-3 double play.
The score remained tied at one until the bottom of the fourth. A leadoff walk and sacrifice bunt moved the runner to scoring position. After a strikeout for the second out, an infield single and then single up the middle drove in the run to make it 2-1 Cowgirls.
OSU blew the lead open in the fifth. A single and double made it 3-1 and chased Moore from the game. Nash struck out the first batter she faced for the opening out. However, the next batter doubled in a run. Consecutive singles brought in a run to give the Cowgirls a 5-1 lead.
A walk loaded the bases before an error scored the sixth run of the game and fourth of the inning. Tulsa walked in the seventh run and ended Nash's night. Riley Grant forced a groundout for the second out, but a run scored to extend Tulsa's deficit to 8-1. The next batter flew out to left, ending the inning.
