Tulsa Softball’s Morgan and Edwards Named to Academic All-District Team

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa's Haley Morgan and Imani Edwards were named to the 2023 Academic All-District Softball Team as selected by the College Sports Communicators. This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. 
 
Morgan, a senior center fielder from Durant, Okla., maintains a 4.00 GPA in exercise and sports science. She finished the 2023 season with a .392 batting average and 47 runs scored to lead the Golden Hurricane. She recorded eight doubles, three triples, seven home runs and 32 RBI. The veteran outfielder was named to the American Athletic Conference all-conference first team and was honored as the player of the week once this season. 
 
Edwards, a junior shortstop from Tomball, Texas, holds a 4.00 GPA in management. On the field this season, Edwards batted .369 with 26 runs scored, both of which were second best on the team. She collected six doubles, four triples, a pair of home runs and drove in 21 runs. Edwards was named to The American's all-conference first team and earned player of the week honors once. She was also named to the all-tournament team for her performance in the 2023 American Athletic Conference Softball Championship. 
 
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. The three Academic All-America teams will be announced on June 6 for softball.
