TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa Softball head coach Crissy Strimple announced today the appointment of Jessica Dreswick to the Golden Hurricane coaching staff as an assistant coach. Dreswick will work with the pitching staff.
Dreswick comes to Tulsa following two seasons at Longwood University, where she spent the past two seasons as the top assistant. In her second season as the top assistant, she helped the Lancers to a second consecutive 30-win season and another Big South regular season title.
Over her two seasons with Longwood, Dreswick assisted in coaching 15 all-conference selections and helped the Lancers to top-25 wins over No. 4 Florida State and No. 8 Duke this past season. Prior to her time as the top assistant, she served seven months as a graduate assistant with Longwood.
"We are excited to have Jessica join our staff and oversee the development of our pitching staff," coach Strimple said. "Throughout the hiring process, I enjoyed learning more about her vision leading a bullpen. She was a talented pitcher for Boston College and someone whose experience in developing her own craft will translate nicely to the coaching side."
Before her stint with Longwood, Dreswick was an assistant coach at Hunterdon Central Regional High School in Flemington, N.J. She also has coached with the South Australia Softball Development program, the New Jersey Pride and Saint Peters Middle School, located in Adelaide, Australia, where she served as the head softball and volleyball coach.
As a player, Dreswick was a four-year letterwinner (2015-18) at Boston College, where she became one of the top pitchers in the Eagles' history. She set a program record with 59 wins and helped the Eagles to consecutive 30-win seasons in her final two years with the program. In addition to her total wins, Dreswick is in the top-10 for ERA (2.64), strikeouts (472) and innings pitched (675.1).
She recorded the program's first perfect game in her senior season against ACC rival Virginia, striking out seven batters and finishing the record-setting game in five innings on 57 pitches. In her sophomore campaign, Dreswick completed Boston College's first no-hitter in ACC play, blanking NC State while fanning six.
After completing college ball, Dreswick went on to pitch in various places around the globe. Her career saw her pitch in Czech Republic, Italy and South Australia, winning the Italian National Championship in 2019 and reaching the Australian National Final in 2020.
A native of Flemington, N.J., Dreswick graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2018. She was a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and volunteered with numerous community service projects, including the Wounded Warrior Project and Athletes for Autism.
