The nation's 19th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners scored on its first five possessions and claimed a 66-17 win over the Tulsa Golden Hurricane Saturday afternoon in front of a sellout crowd of 30,855 fans at H.A. Chapman Stadium
 
The attendance figure of 30,855 was the largest home crowd since the renovation of H.A. Chapman Stadium in 2008.
 
The Sooners jumped out to a 28-0 first quarter lead, scoring on all four if its first quarter possessions. Tulsa scored its first points on its first possession of the second quarter when Cardell Williams connected on a 19-yard toss to Marquis Shoulders to make the score 28-7.
A drive later Williams, who entered the game late in the first quarter, hit Devan Williams with a 18-yard touchdown strike putting the score at 35-14.
 
The Hurricane took the opening second-half possession 73 yards in 11 plays, but had to settle for a field goal, making it a 38-17 Oklahoma lead.
 
OU totaled 595 yards to Tulsa's 292. The Sooners had 476 passing yards and 119 rushing, while the Hurricane had 217 passing and 75 rushing yards.  Oklahoma's Dillon Gabriel threw for 421 yards and five touchdowns, while Williams completed 11-of-17 passes for 196 yards and two TDs.
 
Tulsa suffered five turnovers, while the Hurricane defense had a pick-off and fumble recovery.
 
1st Quarter Breakdown
•    Tulsa's Jaise Oliver forced a fumble on the opening kickoff recovered by Donte Burton.
•    OU responded with an interception and went 84 yards in two plays for a 7-0 lead at the 12:31 mark.
•    The Sooners took its second possession 92 yards in 11 plays for a 14-0 lead with 4:49 left in the period.
•    OU's Danny Stutsman took an interception 30 yards for a TD and a 21-0 lead with 3:34 left to play in the quarter.
•     OU outscored Tulsa 28-0 and had a 223 to 72-yard edge in total yards in the first quarter. 

2nd Quarter Breakdown
•    Tulsa opened the second half and scored put up its first points of the game on a 19-yard Cardell Williams pass to Marquis Shoulders, capping a 75-yard, 11-play drive.
•    Oklahoma responded with a 78-yard, 8-play drive giving the Sooners its fifth touchdown on its first five possessions of the game to take a 35-7 lead.
•    The Hurricane responded with a score on its second straight possession as Cardell Williams connected in the end zone with Devan Williams for his first career TD reception, capping an 82-yard, 10-play drive.
•    Demarco Jones intercepted a Dillon Gabriel pass to stop OU's streak of five straight
scoring drives.
•    Cardell Williams completed 7-of-9 first half stats for 115 yards and 2 TDs after coming into the game in Tulsa's last drive of the first period.
•    Tulsa gained 128 yards on 21 plays and scored 14 points in the second quarter.
 
3rd Quarter Breakdown
•    Tulsa opened the second half with a 73-yard, 11-play drive but had to settle for a 21-yard chase Meyer field goal.
•    The Sooners scored on both of their possessions in the third quarter, going 73 and 42 yards for the scores. 

4th Quarter Breakdown
•     An interception on Tulsa's first possession led to Oklahoma's ninth touchdown and the eventual final score of 66-17 lead.
•     Tulsa ran just nine plays in the quarter, while Oklahoma had 13 offensive plays.
