Haggerty Earns Sixth American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week Honor

TULSA, Okla. –– Tulsa guard PJ Haggerty was named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon, marking his sixth time to win this award and seventh to win a conference weekly award this season.  
 
In games at Charlotte and against Tulane, Haggerty averaged 26.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals.
 
The redshirt-freshman guard led Tulsa in scoring in both games, recording 28 at Charlotte before a 25-point performance in the overtime battle with Tulane. He played almost every minute in both games and shot 42.9 percent from the field and 79.3 percent at the foul line, where he knocked down 23 free throws.
 
Haggerty is Tulsa's leading scorer at 18.9 points per game, which ranks second in The American and second nationally among qualifying freshmen. He has scored 20-plus points in eight contests this season.  
 
This week, Tulsa hosts UTSA on Wednesday in the Donald W. Reynolds Center before a weekend showdown at SMU. Tipoff for Wednesday's contest with the Roadrunners is set for 7 p.m. and will air on ESPN+.
