
Haggerty Earns Eighth American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week Honor

TULSA, Okla. –– After helping lead Tulsa to its first road win of the season over Rice, PJ Haggerty was selected as the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week for the eighth time this season.
Haggerty had a game-high 21 points, 19 of which came in the second half of Saturday evening's game at Rice. It was his 10th 20-point performance of the season and 18th double-digit scoring game. He helped Tulsa to its first road win in 707 days as Tulsa clipped the Owls 85-83.
The Crosby, Texas native showed out in front of hometown friends and family, adding five rebounds, four assists and a steal. He connected on his lone 3-point attempt to help silence a late Rice run and finished 8-of-10 at the free throw line.
Averaging 19.3 points per game, Haggerty is Tulsa's leading scorer. He also leads the country for freshman scoring and is second in The American, overall. He and the Golden Hurricane return to action Wednesday evening in the Reynolds Center for a showdown with longtime rival Wichita State. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. on ESPNU.
