Haggerty Named The American Freshman of the Week for Fifth Time

TULSA, Okla. –– Tulsa guard PJ Haggerty was named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon, marking the fifth time this season he has received the award.
In Tulsa's two games last week, the redshirt freshman averaged 21.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals. He also shot 54.5 percent from the floor.
Haggerty led the Golden Hurricane with 27 points and eight rebounds in Tulsa's near upset of the #15 Memphis Tigers on Thursday evening. He dished out four assists and added three steals. He followed with 16 points, five rebounds and five assists in the game at East Carolina.
The Hurricane is on the road for the second of two games in North Carolina. TU faces conference newcomer Charlotte in a Wednesday evening game. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. (CT) in Dale F. Halton Arena and will air on ESPN+.
