IRVING, Texas –– The University of Tulsa men's and women's basketball teams participated in The American Athletic Conference Media Days at the Westin Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas on Sunday.

Media sessions for Tulsa began at 4 p.m. on Sunday. A show on ESPN+ hosted by Brooke Kirchhofer, Mike O'Donnell and Brooke Weisbrod will feature student-athletes and coaches from all 26 American teams.

Click HERE for live coverage of the 2024 Media Days on ESPN+ starting at 8:15 a.m. CT on Monday.

The Golden Hurricane will close the live show with the airing of Tulsa's prerecorded interviews. The women will air at 1 p.m. and the men to follow 10 minutes later.

The TU women's basketball team brought senior guard Delanie Crawford and junior guard/forward Hadley Periman alongside head coach Angie Nelp.

Nelp enters her fourth season at the helm of the program. In her three seasons, she's compiled a 59-34 record. She has the most wins by any TU women's coach in their first three seasons and is the first to post winning records in her first three, as well.

Tulsa is coming off its best season under Nelp, recording 25 wins, a regular season shared conference title and a quarterfinals appearance in the inaugural WBIT.

A Preseason All-AAC First Team selection, Crawford enters her season following a 2023-24 campaign where she averaged 19.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 35 games. The senior scored 10 or more in 33 games, breached 20 points 15 times and logged three games with more than 30 points.

Periman was a force for the Golden Hurricane last season, cleaning the glass to the tune of a team-leading 7.2 boards per game, doubling her total (272) from her freshman campaign (136). She took on a larger role as a sophomore, making 37 starts in 38 games. The incoming junior nearly doubled her blocks, stuffing 53 shot attempts a year ago.

The women will start their 2024-25 campaign at home in the Donald W. Reynolds Center against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Wednesday, Nov. 6.

Joining third-year head coach Eric Konkol at The American Media Days is graduate senior guard Keaston Willis and junior guard Isaiah Barnes. The Hurricane saw an 11-win improvement in Tulsa's second season under Konkol and will look to build on that success heading into year three.

Willis joined the Golden Hurricane for the 2023-24 campaign, but his season was cut short due to injury after only two appearances.  A revitalized Willis and his sharpshooting ability will bolster the Hurricane offense. He has recorded more than 1,600 career points and knocked down 300 3-pointers at a 37.3 percent rate in his career.

In his first season in the gold and blue, Barnes started in all 30 games he played. The incoming junior guard averaged 8.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists while shooting 44.6 percent from the floor. He scored a career-best 17 points against UTSA and logged a double-double against Incarnate Word.

Tulsa opens its 2024-25 season against Northeastern State in the Reynolds Center on Nov. 4. The Golden Hurricane will celebrate Ken Hayes Day in the season opener, honoring legendary coach Ken Hayes, who is in the hall of fame for both Tulsa and NSU.
