Haley Morgan Earns Honor Roll Accolades
TULSA, Okla. – After tossing a no-hitter against the Memphis Tigers in the Tulsa's American Athletic Conference opener on Saturday morning, junior pitcher Maura Moore was named The American's Pitcher of the week, the league announced on Monday.
Senior center fielder Haley Morgan was also recognized by the league offices as she was selected to the weekly honor roll.
Moore only needed to make one appearance over the weekend as the Golden Hurricane pitchers all tossed complete games in the sweep. She kept the Tigers off balance in her five innings of work, striking out six batters en route to a 9-0 win.
Morgan had a solid weekend as well, batting .500 with six RBI, three runs scored and a pair of walks. She was her usual self on the basepaths, picking up a pair of steals. Defensively, In center field, Morgan made no mistakes, collecting six putouts, the most by a Tulsa outfielder over the three-game series.
The Golden Hurricane returns to action Tuesday as Tulsa hosts Iowa State in the Collins Family Softball Complex. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. as TU looks to extend its four-game winning streak.
