TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa Golden Hurricane women's soccer team has made program history, earning the No. 3 seed, their highest-ever placement, in the American Women's Soccer Championship.

Since joining the American Athletic Conference in 2014, Tulsa had never been seeded higher than fifth. The last time Tulsa entered a conference championship with as high of a seed was in 2000, when the Golden Hurricane qualified as a No. 2 seed for the WAC Championship. Now, Tulsa has once again positioned itself among the league's top contenders.

Tulsa will open postseason play against sixth-seeded Rice in the quarterfinal round of the American Championship on Monday, Nov. 3, at 12:30 p.m. CT. The tournament will continue with semifinal matchups on Thursday, Nov. 6, followed by the championship final on Sunday, Nov. 9.

The Golden Hurricane will look to carry their regular-season momentum into the tournament as they chase their first American title in program history.
