Barnstable Earns American Conference Honorable Mention Honors in Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas — Miles Barnstable earned American Conference Honorable Mention when the league announced its weekly awards on Monday.
The senior posted a season-high 21 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including 4-for-7 from long range. Barnstable was a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line in Tulsa's 88-87 victory over Oral Roberts in the Mayor's Cup. He had the highlight of the night with just over four minutes to play, trailing by three, Barnstable drove the lane with a thunderous dunk that shifted momentum in favor of the Golden Hurricane down the stretch.
South Florida's Joseph Pinion was named Player of the Week after averaging 24.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in a pair of wins. South Florida also had the Freshman of the Week as Gavin Hightower averaged 8.0 points, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 rebounds for the Bulls. Other honorable mentions for the week included Chance Westry of UAB, Giovanni Emejuru of East Carolina, Derrian Ford of Temple, and Kenyon Giles of Wichita State.
