King Named to Silver Waves Media Most Impactful Assistant Coaches List

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa men's basketball assistant coach Yaphett King was named to the Silver Waves Media 100 most impactful assistant coaches and general managers list announced on Monday. The seventh annual list, compiled by a panel of industry professionals, has seen numerous coaches go on to become Division I head coaches.
King is in his forth season on the staff of the Golden Hurricane after spending the previous three with SMU where the Mustangs went 54-26. He also spent three seasons on Tulsa head coach Eric Konkol's staff (2016-19) at Louisiana Tech. King has been instrumental in Tulsa's turnaround in 2025-26, helping the team to a 13-2 record and winning 10-straight games for the first time in over a decade.
