Football Places Eight on Athlon Preseason American All-Conference Preseason Teams

TULSA, Okla. – Eight Tulsa Golden Hurricane football players earned preseason recognition as Athlon Sports announced its 2026 Preseason All-American Conference Teams.
Tulsa was led by defensive backs Elijah Green and Zach Williams, who each garnered First Team honors. Green was selected at cornerback, while Williams earned First Team recognition at safety.
Three Golden Hurricane players were named to the Second Team, led by running back/all-purpose Trequan Jones on offense. Defensively, Kyran Duhon earned recognition on the defensive line, while Devin Robinson was selected at STAR.
Offensive lineman Cam East and defensive lineman Tai Newhouse were both named to the Third Team, while wide receiver David Wells Jr. rounded out Tulsa's selections with Fourth Team honors.
Tulsa opens the 2026 season on Saturday, Sept. 5, against Oklahoma State in the Gateway First Bank Turnpike Classic at H.A. Chapman Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:45 p.m., and the game will be televised on ESPNU.
