An outstanding guard and a dynamic playmaker, Jim “Country” King was selected to the All-Missouri Valley Conference team twice … received honorable mention All-America accolades in 1962-63 season, when he averaged 16.2 points … as a junior, he averaged 18.4 points … in his career, he scored 1,119 points for a 14.7 scoring average and grabbed 528 rebounds for a 6.9 average … went on to play for Los Angeles, San Francisco, Cincinnati and Chicago of the NBA … returned to Tulsa as head basketball coach in 1975.
