A three-time All-Missouri Valley Conference selection at guard, Dick Nunneley led the Golden Hurricane in scoring for three straight seasons … was a superb outside shooter who ranked among the top scorers in the MVC for three years, averaging 15.6 points per game throughout his career … averaged 17.3 points per game as a senior, 13.1 points as a junior and 15.8 points his sophomore season … his teammates selected him as Tulsa's Most Valuable Player for the 1953-54 season.
