The 1916 football team had the school’s first undefeated season with a 10-0 record, including five shutouts … Kendall outscored the opposition 566 to 40 … finished 4-0 and in first place in the Oklahoma Collegiate Conference … shutout wins came against Cumberland (81-0), Oklahoma (16-0), Haskell Indians (46-0), St. Gregory (82-0) and Missouri-Rolla (117-0) … the team was unofficially declared “Champions of the Southwest”.
