Was a swift and agile offensive tackle whose strength and speed made him an outstanding blocker. Was an All-Missouri Valley Conference and honorable mention All-America selection in 1964. Helped pave the way for the nation's leading total offensive unit (461.8 yards) and the nation's top scoring team (38.4 points per game) in 1964. Played on the 1964 Bluebonnet Bowl team that defeated Mississippi 14-7. Went on to play seven years in the NFL with Denver, Minnesota, Chicago and Atlanta.
