Was a two-way player who excelled on both sides of the ball. Played on the 1942 team before spending three years in the Marines. Upon his return, he logged 270 minutes in 10 games for the 1946 team that finished with a 9-1 record. Was a devastating tackler on defense who was as equally strong at offensive tackle. Was a two-time selection to the All-Missouri Valley Conference team in 1946 and ?47.
