Was an outstanding lineman who played both offense and defense for three seasons. Served as captain of the 1936 team and earned honorable mention All-America accolades that season. Was an All-Missouri Valley Conference selection at offensive center in 1935 and ?36. Went on to play professional football with the Chicago Cardinals.
