A three-year letterwinner and two-way starting tackle for the Hurricane. He was a first-team all-Missouri Valley Conference as a senior and was selected to play in the College All-Star game against the NFL. Was drafted by the Green Bay Packers, but was traded to the Dallas Cowboys. He became a starting offensive tackle in his rookie season and started for the Cowboys six years, playing in Super Bowl V and Super Bowl VI. He was runner-up for the NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 1971. He also played in the famous NFL Championship Ice Bowl game between Dallas and Green Bay in 1967.
